Australian Pain Society The Australian Pain Society is a multidisciplinary body that aims to reduce pain and related suffering through leadership in clinical practice, education, research, and public advocacy.
New Zealand Pain Society The NZPS is an organization representing a wide range of disciplines interested in the management and understanding of pain.
British Pain Society The British Pain Society is the largest multidisciplinary professional organisation in the field of pain within the UK. The membership of the British Pain Society comprises medical pain specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, scientists, psychologists, occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals actively engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of pain and in pain research for the benefit of patients. The multidisciplinary nature the society is pivotal in making it a uniquely relevant representative body on all matters relating to pain.
American Pain Society The American Pain Society is a multidisciplinary community that brings together a diverse group of scientists, clinicians and other professionals to increase the knowledge of pain and transform public policy and clinical practice to reduce pain-related suffering.
International Association for the study of Pain IASP brings together scientists, clinicians, health care providers, and policy makers to stimulate and support the study of pain and to translate that knowledge into improved pain relief worldwide.
National Pain Foundation (US) An on-line educational and support community for persons in pain, their families and physicians. A patient resource for treatment options and pain information that is peer reviewed by leading pain specialists.

Faculty of Pain Medicine- Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists The FPM is the body responsible for training, education and standards for Pain Medicine in Australia and New Zealand.
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is a professional organisation that focuses on the safety and quality of general practice.
Rheumatology Health Professionals Association The Rheumatology Health Professionals Association formed in Australia in 1983 to provide a representative body for health professionals who share an interest in or were involved in the area of rheumatic disease.
Australian Rheumatology Association The ARA supports and educates members and other practitioners in the musculoskeletal field to enable provision of best possible management for patients. It fosters excellence in the diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions through training, professional development, research and advocacy.

Arthritis Australia Arthritis Australia is the peak arthritis organisation in Australia. It is supported by affiliate offices in every state and territory. Arthritis Australia:
  • provides support and information to people with arthritis as well as their families and friends
  • promotes awareness of the challenges facing people with arthritis across the community, and to leaders in business, industry, and government
  • funds research into potential causes and possible cures as well as better ways to live with arthritis, and
  • aims to keep health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and community nurses informed.
Better Health Channel The Better Health Channel website was founded in 1999 by the Victorian Department of Human Services, Australia as a consumer health information website for the Victorian community. The site’s aim has always been to provide free health and medical information in an easy to understand format and language.
Carers Australia Carers Australia works with a network of carers associations in each state and territory to improve the lives of carers. Carers Australia provide important services like counselling, advice, advocacy, education and training to carers. Cares Australia also promote recognition of carers to governments, businesses and the wider public.
Osteoporosis Australia Osteoporosis Australia aims to improve awareness about the disease in the Australian community and reduce fractures.
Health Insite HealthInsite is an Australian Government initiative, funded by the Department of Health and Ageing. It aims to improve the health of Australians by providing easy access to quality information about human health.

Australian Physiotherapy Association The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is the peak body representing the interests of Australian physiotherapists and their patients. The APA is a national organisation with non-autonomous state and territory branches and specialty subgroups.

The Department of Health and Ageing The Australian Government’s Department of Health and Ageing has links to health resources for consumers and health professionals.
Therapeutic Goods Administration The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is part of the Australian Government’s Department of Health and Ageing. The TGA carries out a range of assessment and monitoring activities to ensure therapeutic goods available in Australia are of an acceptable standard with the aim of ensuring that the Australian community has access, within a reasonable time, to therapeutic advances.
National Prescribing Service The National Prescribing Service is an independent, non-profit organisation providing medicines information and resources for consumers, health professionals, members and stakeholders involved in quality use of medicines.
