Please note, data collection and privacy for the Chronic Osteoarthritis Pain audit is in accordance with the amendments to the National Privacy Act 1988, effective from 21 December 2001. Your responses will remain confidential. Data will be compared with evidence-based treatment guidelines and individual GP feedback reports will be generated. This audit utilises only patient data that has been fully de-identified.

You must inform patients that data from their medical records may be used for clinical audits and obtain their verbal consent. The RACGP 2008-2010 Handbook for GPs recommend GPs provide ongoing communication of QA and CPD activities with patients via direct discussion and by displaying posters and patient information leaflets explaining such activities. Written patient consent for this audit is not required.
